Dermatology is a branch of medical science which is known for dealing with all kinds of skin problems. There are various health and other skincare issues that occur on our skin. These problems and their treatments come under dermatology.
They diagnose and treat all causes and conditions that affect your hair, skin, nails, etc. Apart from skin, hair and nail problems, they can also help you to spot and identify any serious skin health problems.
A doctor who is a specialist in this branch of medical science ‘dermatology’ is called a dermatologist. A dermatologist is a skincare specialist doctor who deals with skin, hair, nails and some other cosmetic problems.
A general doctor or physician can also treat your normal dermatological (skin, hair, nails etc) problems but a dermatologist has much deeper knowledge, understanding and experience that is why many primary care doctors and physicians also refer their patients to a dermatologist in case of any skin problems.
