An electrocardiogram (ECG) is a test that is used by doctors to check your heart’s beat and electrical activities of your heart. The sensors that are attached to your body detects the electrical signals produced by your heart whenever it beats.
ECG scanning machine records such electrical signals so that the doctor can check whether it’s usual or unusual.
Electrocardiogram (ECG) is usually used with the other tests, that helps in monitoring the condition of your heart. With the help of ECG, doctors can detect – arrhythmias, heart attacks, coronary heart disease, cardiomyopathy and other related heart issues. Sometimes doctors recommend taking a series of ECGs to check whether your condition is improving or not. There are various methods to carry out the ECG test. Normally, the test starts with attaching small sensors called electrodes to your body parts such as legs, chest, arms. All of these electrodes are connected to one ECG machine. This test takes a few minutes to complete and provide instant reports. There are mainly three types of ECG scans, these are – Resting ECG, Exercise ECG, and Ambulatory ECG. Moreover, ECG is among the safest and quickest test and no electricity pass through your body while testing.
